Justin Lyon on the closing panel at ASAP 2026
Application-specific systems, architectures and processors in 2066

Simudyne CEO Justin Lyon joined the closing panel of ASAP 2026, the 37th IEEE International Conference on Application-specific Systems, Architectures and Processors, held at Imperial College London from 2 to 4 September 2026.

The panel, “ASAP Advances in 2066”, asked where application-specific hardware goes over the next forty years. Moderated by Zhenman Fang, it brought together Guy Lemieux (University of British Columbia), Justin Lyon (Simudyne), Masato Motomura (Institute of Science Tokyo), Kentaro Sano (RIKEN), Cristina Silvano (Politecnico di Milano) and Yiannis Sourdis (Chalmers University of Technology).

Simudyne came to the question from the other end of the stack. Simulating an entire exchange, every order included, and training world models on what those simulations record is only possible because of the accelerators the panel was discussing. What that compute should look like in forty years is a question the company has a direct stake in.
